MY GLAMOROUS LIFE |
<the big one>SUNDAYI SLEEP THROUGH the uneventful cab ride to the airport, the uneventful flight to Dulles, the uneventful connecting flight to Laguardia, and the uneventful cab ride home. Soon after Joan greets me at the door, I crawl into bed and sleep some more. Bat Head and 'Tippi' come to my pillow, forming a corona around my head. At nine, Joan wakes me with some broth. She seems to be recovering from her pneumonia more energetic, more her old self. But when she coughs, it still sounds like a death rattle. At midnight Joan begins redecorating the bathroom, and I crawl back into bed. MONDAYI take a call from my book editors, phone my doctor, type these notes, and go back to bed, joining Joan and the two cats. PRESS COVERAGE |
