Tragically shared mental illness provides cheap laugh for would-be ad kings.

Rejected Print ad, 1999. Art director/concept: Dan Leadbetter. Cause of death, in Leadbetter's words: "Here's an ad I came up with back when the Heaven's Gate mass suicide went down. I sent it in to Nike, but never heard back. It would have been a killer campaign! I heard the image was floating around as wallpaper at Nike Hqts for awhile, until some bigwig saw it and sent a memo saying anyone caught with that image would be terminated. Ironic, huh?"
