    Actually it’s smoked glass, reduced to a dot pattern and colorized. Used as a background on your phone during the month of December, it will add a festive feeling of holiday cheer.

    Or not. If it doesn’t do that for you, you certainly needn’t use it.

    Shiny! It’s been on my iPhone for a couple of days now, and makes me happy whenever it unexpectedly catches my eye. It’s rich, warm, and lovely. Perhaps that proves the adage simple minds, simple pleasures, but I’m okay with that.

    I think I’m missing something here. Why makes that image an “iPhone 4 background”? Wouldn’t it work just as well on a Nokia phone, an Android phone, or any other device?
