If I’m reading your description right, I think TextMate can also do the trick with LIs that PageSpinner does. It’s a fiddly keyboard shortcut combo.

Is there a manual that comes with TextMate that I just didn’t get? When I use TextMate I do everything manually. There are no buttons and no obvious visual shortcuts to do anything.

PageSpinner makes it easy to create dozens of LIs at once. Also to wrap blocks of text in paragraph tags or h1, h2, etc.

A friend sent me a three-key shortcut that was supposed to allow TextMate to insert P or another element tag, but it never worked on any of my Macs.

(shrug)

I love TextMate but I use it completely manually. Surely I’m doing it wrong, but ?????

Saw your tweets on this as well, thanks, Laura. Hixie *edits* the spec, he’s not the chair. The rest of the book gets this right, but there is one erroneous reference to Hixie as “chair” in that chapter, you’re absolutely right. This will be fixed in the next printing. Thanks, again.

Thanks for the articles and interviews. They are great. I will certainly be getting the book. There seems to be a mistake in The Future of Web Standards sample chapter, where it states:

Presently, two groups are working on HTML5 simultaneously: the WHATWG, chaired by Mr. Hickson, and a W3C working group, also chaired by Mr. Hickson.

The Ian has never chaired the W3C HTML5 working group. It is chaired by Paul Cotton (Microsoft), Maciej Stachowiak (Apple), and Sam Ruby (IBM/Apache). Previous Chairs include Dan Connolly, Chris Wilson, and Mike Smith. Ian Hickson is an editor.
