Thanks for your feedback Mike. We've currently adding input test support to findmebyip.com along with some other upgrades.

I'll post to Twitter (@get_dave) when the improved version goes live.

@David--excellent findings. If you'd like to further test HTML5 form support, I've created some more detailed tests here:

HTML5 input tests

If anyone's interested we've just run some tests on the seven A-Grade browsers using findmebyip.com.

Results can be found at:

David,
Thanks for the gracious reply. I harbor no ill feelings about it at all. In fact, I feel a bit like a schmuck for even mentioning it here. Should have just sent you a friendly email instead. If you want to chat some more, email me: my first name at learningjquery.com.

Jeffrey, please forgive me for posting another comment, even though I said I'd stop. :) Wanted to at least reply to David.

@ Karl

Karl you are correct. This is far too similar.

I can assure you I am not in the business of ripping off other people's designs. I hadn't actually seen LJQ for a while. The inspiration in my head was(amongst others):

http://www.designingthenews.com/ - check out his work section

http://www.fontsquirrel.com/utils/load_image.php?filename=fonts/613/chunk_showing.jpg

I only had a morning to knock up this design last Friday. However, I'm not happy to leave it as it is so I'll be redesigning it this Friday.

Maybe it's just because I run the other site, but I find the similarities striking. Not that I'm particularly bothered by them; I'm more amused than annoyed. In any case, I'll stop discussing it now. Don't want to appear trollish (hope I haven't already).

On a side note, I have to disable JavaScript in order to successfully post a comment on your blog. The JavaScript form validation in /wp-content/plugins/wp-comment-spam-stopper/valforms.js is trying to validate
document.getElementById("email")
. Since you have two instances of that ID on the page, it's trying (unsuccessfully) to validate against the first one, which is a link inside

. Looks like you might need to modify the output of your "sociable" plugin.
