Register for An Event Apart Boston

Registration is now open for An Event Apart Boston 2007. Enjoy two amazing days of design and code plus meals, a party, and a bag of swag for a mere $795 (reg. $895) while early bird savings last. Attend for as little as $745 with a discount code exclusively for zeldman.com readers.

Learn by day, party by night

On An Event Apart’s website, you’ll now find a detailed schedule describing the presentations with which our superstar speakers hope to entertain and enlighten you. From “Web Standards Stole My Truck!” to “Redesigning Your Way out of a Paper Bag,” it’s two stimulating days of best practices and fresh ideas in design, usability, accessibility, markup and code.

Check out that schedule. I’ll wait.

Lest you be overwhelmed by learning too much too soon, we’ll help you unwind (and do a little networking) at the Opening Night Party sponsored by Media Temple. You might even win a prize, courtesy of Adobe, New Riders, or Media Temple.

Hotel savings

Our Boston Events page also includes notes to help you book your hotel room at a specially negotiated discount price.

Located in beautiful and historic Back Bay, the Boston Marriott Copley Place provides in-room, high-speed internet access; laptop safes and coolers; 27-inch color TV with cable movies; luxurious bedding and linens, and more. Best of all, it’s the site of the conference. You can walk out of your room and into the show!

Save more with discount code

During the early bird period, the price for this two-day event is $795. But you can nab an extra $50 off with this discount code exclusively for zeldman.com readers:

AEAZELD

Just enter AEAZELD in An Event Apart’s shopping cart to enjoy those savings immediately. During our early bird period, you’ll pay just $745 for the two days and everything that comes with them.

After February 26, 2007, when the early bird savings ends, the price goes up to $895, and you’ll pay $845 with the discount. Still pretty good for two days with some of the sharpest minds and greatest talents in web design. But why pay more? Book An Event Apart Boston as soon as you can.

Unlimited creativity, limited seating

An Event Apart Boston will be the best conference Eric Meyer and I have yet put together. It will also be this year’s only East Coast Event Apart. Don’t miss it.

Join Eric and me, along with Steve Krug, Andrew Kirkpatrick, Molly Holzschlag, Cameron Moll, Dan Cederholm, Ethan Marcotte, and Jason Santa Maria, for what we modestly believe may be the most exciting and enlightening show in modern web design.

Hurry! Seating is limited and early bird savings end Feb. 26, 2007.

I’ve noticed most of the ALA people have these super secret codes. Are you guys keeping score on who gets the most people to come? Some sort of method for establishing blog importance based on secret code usage.

[...] Boston “Event Apart” discount: Lots of web luminaries will be at “An Event Apart” in Boston Massachusetts, March 26-7. Preregistration discounts are available through Feb 26, but you can take an extra $50 Adobe discount if you use discount code “AEAADOB” while registering. There are two tracks, and session descriptions are already published at the above link. Update: Jeffrey Zeldman has more info on the event today, but with a different discount code… use “AEAADOB”, it has more vowels…. ;-) [...]

All our speakers have them: Steve Krug, Adobe’s Andrew Kirkpatrick, Molly E. Holzschlag, Cameron Moll, Dan Cederholm, Ethan Marcotte, and Jason Santa Maria. Eric has one, too. We all do! It’s fun!

    Informally, sure.

No, we already know which blogs are important. (Kidding!)

I’m definately going to try to make it to this one. It looks like it will be informative and a great time! Thanks for the discount codes!

I’d love to be there, but since it’s only one day, traveling all the way from Norway makes the “bang for the buck” balance too low to be able to go. Had the conference been for two or three days, the chances for me going would be a great lot closer to 100%. I hope you can take this into account on future AEA conferences, because I’d really love to go. Having AEA’s in Europe would also help.

We intend to! And we’re excited about doing it. But we can’t do it this year. Currently our energy is focused on transforming An Event Apart from an intimate, one-day affair into a star-studded, two-day extravaganza, with more great speakers, a tighter structure, and a lower attendance cost per day. Coping with intercontinental business issues at this time would introduce one complexity too many. But soon!

Meanwhile, thanks for your interest and feedback, which we will keep in mind as we move forward. Sorry you can’t be with us in March, but we hope to see you at a future Event Apart event.

I was supposed to go, or was told I was slated to go, but last week I was laid off, so that is a huge letdown. I was excited to see and meet the people that have influenced my work heavily. Maybe next time around when Boston is on the slate again maybe.

Glad to hear it, Jeffrey! I’ll be following this place and ALA.com in the future for updates and plans for the next AEA’s. I’m very anctious and excited to know where (and when) in Europe you’ll have the first European AEA. :-)

Very excited to finally attend an AEA - an in my neck of the woods! There are quite a few faces I’d like to put with names and hands to shake after reading/learning all these years.

Hopefully, this will be my first ALA event. I’ve tried to attend in the past, but circumstances kept getting in the way.

In the (likely) event that something else does come up on those two days, would it be too much trouble to reschedule this around my schedule? Thanks so much!

Any idea on when the next AEA event will be?

  17. Jeffrey Zeldman said on

    @Livin’ in Boston:

The next AEA will be in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

    Then San Francisco in October.

Speak up!
